Hempstead Hall
An ideal holiday location
Seated in a quiet spot in rural North Norfolk, we are only 2 miles from the historic Georgian town of Holt and 5 miles from the North Norfolk coast.
With many attractions within a short drive, Hempstead Hall is an ideal base from which to explore what this beautiful county has to offer.
Parking by the pond
Ample safe parking is available alongside our flint wall adjacent to the pond, one of three found on the farm.
This particular pond is home to our ducks, although Guinea fowl and chickens often meet here too.
Our Rooms
A room with a view

Hempstead Hall offers a large double / twin room with en-suite bathroom and a double room with a private bathroom. Bathrooms contain a bath fitted with a hand held shower.
You will find our rooms cosy and comfortable with everything you need to feel right at home, such as:
- Unlimited Wi-Fi access
- Television with Freeview
- Self-service tea and coffee tray
- Towels
- Hairdryer
- Alarm clock
- Toiletries including bubble bath
Both rooms overlook the grounds, offering pleasant views of spacious well kept lawns, tall trees, shrubs and flowers. The bedroom windows also provide excellent opportunity to spot some of the many species of birds and wildlife that visit Hempstead Hall.

Breakfast Dining Room
The dining room is where the Mack family celebrate our special occasions, but every morning it will be made available for you to gather round our grand dining table and enjoy breakfast.
A traditional farmhouse breakfast is included in our room rates and comprises locally sourced produce; including free range eggs from the farmyard hens and tomatoes from the kitchen garden greenhouse when in season.
Fresh pressed coffee, breakfast cereals and toasted homemade bread are also included.
Guests are also welcome to use the comfortable armchairs by the large window to enjoy a read, a good conversation or play a board game.

Our Farm

Meet the donkeys
As you explore the farm you are sure to find our friendly donkeys, grazing and playing on one of the meadows.
Crusts and carrots welcome!
Look out for our Guinea Fowl
We defy you not to smile when you encounter this little group as they move, play and make themselves heard if you make them jump.

Fresh eggs
Our farmyard hens provide a steady supply of lovely free range eggs.
We look forward to serving you these as part of a traditional farmhouse breakfast.
Tomatoes from the vine
In season, our greenhouse tomato plants produce wonderfully tasty tomatoes. If you are staying with us whilst they are ripe, these too will find their way to your plate at breakfast.

The Kitchen Garden
One of the hidden treasures of Hempstead Hall is our beautifully maintained kitchen garden and vegetable patches.
This space is available to our guests all year round. We invite you to go and relax on one of the garden seats and find peace in the surroundings.
Our vegetable patches produce broad beans, runner beans, carrots, courgettes, leeks, onions, parsnips, potatoes, radishes, spring onions and sweetcorn. If you happen to catch William with a spare moment, he would be happy to point out which one is which, and may even have time enough to explain the particular difficulties associated with growing each of them.
From here you will also be able to peek through the windows of the greenhouse to check on the progress of the tomatoes, or through the conservatory windows at the grapes scaling the flint wall. The garden is also home to Victoria plum trees. When they are fully ripe they taste sweet and delicious. If you see one ready, please take one and enjoy.

The heart of a working farm
Hempstead Hall is surrounded by the fields the Mack family have used to grow their crops for decades. Crops grown on the farm include malting barley, wheat and sugar beet.
Here William Mack is operating the combine harvester, with son, Charles Mack pulling the trailer. Both work tirelessly to bring home the harvest. When you come to stay at Hempstead Hall, you are taking a holiday within the heart of this working family farm.
